Technical Problem

  1. What are the recommended PC requirements to use Bolibol?
  2. You can participate in Bolibol auctions with nearly all PCs that allow you to access the internet:


    Supported system software:

    1. Windows Vista / Windows XP / Windows 2000
    2. Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

    Recommended browser:

    1. Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
    2. Firefox 2.0 or higher

    Recommended internet connection:

    1. 512kbps broadband connection or faster

  3. Why hasn't my bid been registered on an auction?
  4. Very occasionally, users tell us that even though they bid before the countdown ended, their bids did not get placed and the auction ends. In these instances, the most likely explanation is so-called "Internet lag times". These are time-delays in the transfer of data between your computer and our servers. Mostly those delays (lags) occur because single parts of the internet connection are overloaded.


    This, unfortunately, is a general problem with the internet.


    There are a few ways of helping minimise this problem:


    1. While bidding on Bolibol do not download/view large data such as video or audio files from the internet.
    2. Don't send emails with large attachments while bidding on Bolibol.
    3. Make sure that no other users such as family members, etc. are using the internet while you are bidding.

    We're very sorry if your bid wasn't registered by the Bolibol servers in time. To be absolutely certain that you avoid the problem of "Internet lag times" don't leave your bidding until the last second. You can find further information in our T&Cs.


  5. I can't confirm my registration using the link in the registration confirmation email. What should I do?
  6. It might be that your email program shows the link in your registration mail as faulty. If this happens, just copy the complete link in to the address line of your internet browser and press 'Enter'. If this doesn't work, please get in touch with our customer service team, letting us know the email address that you used to register.


  7. What happens to the auctions during system downtime?
  8. Downtime, or outage, is an occasional and unforeseeable problem with the internet, and means that bids cannot be placed during this short period when we are offline. If we experience downtime at any point, we automatically add twenty minutes on to the auction end time, so that our bidders are not left at a disadvantage. It is impossible to place any bids whilst the system is experiencing downtime, so any bids attempted during this period will not be debited from your account. If this situation does occur, we advise you to refresh your screen regularly, either by pressing F5 or the refresh button on your browser.


  9. Why I am seeing a particular auction as being ended by Webmaster?
  10. In some cases due to some technical problem, webmaster may need to end the auction. So you will see this message for this kind of auction. In such cases, the credits being used for bidding on different products, will be reimbursed (if any). However this is an occasional and unforeseeable problem with the system.

  11. Why I am getting the message that the Javascript is not enabled on my computer?
  12. Bolibol requires Javascript so that you can experience the full functionality of the website. With Javascript being disable, you may not be able to bid on the auctions. To enable Javascript, please follow the following steps:

    Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x, 7.x

    1. Open IE
    2. Select Tools Menu, then select Internet Options
    3. Click on Security Tab.
    4. Select Internet, then click on Custom Level
    5. Select Scripting enable Active Scripting.
    6. Press OK Button, again press OK Button.
    7. Close & restart Browser.

    FireFox 2.x, 3.x

    1. Open Firefox
    2. Select Tools menu, then click Options
    3. Click on Content Icon.
    4. Click(Check) the box near Enable JavaScript.
    5. Click on OK button
    6. Close & restart Browser.
